About Dr. Mulder

A little bit about Dr. Mulder...

Dr. Mulder has lived in Texas since 1991 and in the Woodlands since June of 1994.  She graduated from Sam Houston State University with a double major in Chemistry and Biology.  She attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where she received her M.D. in 2000.  She stayed in San Antonio for her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology.  Upon completion of residency, she returned to the Woodlands to join Dr. Alan Moore in June of 2004.  Dr. Mulder is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Mulder specializes in general Obstetrics and Gynecology and is accepting both new gynecological and obstetrical patients.  She has full privileges at Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Woodlands and has surgical privileges at Houston Northwest Medical Center.  While welcoming all obstetrical and gynecologic patients, she has a special interest in urinary incontinence and robotic hysterectomy.

Dr. Mulder is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.  She is a member of the Texas Medical Association as well as a member of the Montgomery County Medical Society.

Dr. Mulder has a great deal of personal experience to benefit her patients.  She is married and has five children ranging from twin pre-schoolers through college.  She has one grandchild.  She has experienced the full range of obstetrical outcomes, including natural childbirth with a midwife, hospital birth with an epidural, and even an emergency cesarian section.  She had her first child as a teenager, and despite this, overcame the seemingly insurmountable odds of pursing a career in medicine.  She is an inspiration to those struggling with crisis pregnancy.  Dr. Mulder takes no credit for these things, as she gives God the credit for His infinite grace and mercy.  Her theme verse is Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

As a believing Christian, she practices medicine from a pro-life perspective.  She does not perform abortions or prescribe abortifacient medications.  She enjoys speaking to others about her experiences in a large group setting as well as witnessing to patients that are abortion-minded on an individual basis.  She works in conjunction with the Carenet Pregnancy Center of Northwest Houston, and receives frequent referrals for crisis pregnancies.

Dr. Mulder has a caring and considerate bedside manner, and is frequently described by her patients as "understanding" and "willing to listen."  Patients have complimented her for her patient and detailed explanations and have been particularly appreciative of her praying with them prior to their surgeries.  (Dr. Mulder's established patients advise their friends to bring a good book to their appointment, as she is not usually described as "fast.")  She considers the practice of medicine a privilege and an honor and looks forward to serving you with your medical needs.

About Dr. Hanes

Michelle Hanes, M.D. joined Dr. Mulder in August 2007.   She completed her undergraduate degree at Baylor University in Waco.   She then moved back home to Oklahoma to attend medical school at the University of Oklahoma. For residency, she trained at NYU Downtown Hospital where she was able to work with specialists in maternal fetal medicine, gynecologic oncology, and minimally invasive laparoscopy. After the birth of her son in June 2005, Michelle and her husband Matthew decided to move to The Woodlands to be near her family who had moved here in 1996. She enjoys living in a place where the people are as welcoming as the beautiful landscape of the Piney Woods. The Woodlands provides a wonderful place to raise her son with its wooded trails, excellent schools, and family oriented activities. Dr. Hanes looks forward to meeting you and continuing to grow as a member of this community.
